We’re a little late in posting this news, but due to several reasons, Okzygen Studios is currently no longer operating.
There were many reasons behind this decision, but long story short; I moved across the country last year. It’s difficult to run a studio in one province while living almost 2000 kilometres away, so naturally Okzygen Studios in Peterborough, ON, is no more. As saddened as I am about this decision, it was ultimately a necessity.
I’m working on a temporary studio to satisfy my creative desires while being able to offer mixing and mastering services. It will be quite a while until I have a proper space to bring bands in for recordings, but I have some ambitious ideas for a permanent studio. I won’t divulge much to avoid setting unreasonable expectations, but Okzygen will eventually have a new permanent home. One that can accommodate bands for extended recording sessions in comfort, away from the distractions of society. A place much closer to nature, to help inspire the creative process.
For the time being, just keep in mind some of the information on this website is out of date/inaccurate.
I’ll be updating this site as I work on the new studio, cleaning things up as we go. Some pages will be out of date for a while, so I appreciate your patience as things evolve. I may have been spending the last few months learning a bit more about this web dev stuff. So you might also see the odd weird experimental app or plugin appear on the site. Don’t mind them too much, just a glimpse of what may come.
I want to thank everyone who has come through the studio and allowed me to collaborate with you on your creative visions. A recording studio is nothing without music, and I’ve had the pleasure of welcoming many great bands, artists, and songs through the doors over many years. I hope for all the best for you, and to see you all again soon! (Check out a collection of what we’ve worked on over the years right here!)
Until next time,
Justin.
