Hey guys, it’s been a bit since the last update post so figured it was time for a new one! After releasing Megalomaniac a few months ago, we’ve started work on a couple new projects with some local people in town. Doing some band recordings for local champs Peace Sand Rest the last month or so, an awesome psych rock group full of feel-good party vibes, these guys are awesome to work with. Also been working with a local Folk/Blues guitarist on some new tunes, and we’ll be working on some live performance videos soon too!
Not everything has been running smoothly though, as lately we’ve been embroiled in some computer problems. All the files are still safe and whatnot, but the main recording drive has become slow and sluggish to the point of being unusable. So for the next week or so I’ll be focusing on transferring all the files from the old drive onto a couple of newer, high-quality drives, and changing up the way we manage files here ever so slightly to prevent this from happening again.
Now onto some bigger news. Every now and then I make mention of a label startup, talk about branded merchandise, video production services, etc. Well these things are starting to fall together, and Okzygen Records is going to be a real thing soon. I wanted to take a different approach to what a record label does, as the old antiquated concept of a record label doesn’t really fit into today’s music community. I wanted to operate more as a “family” label and offer a place for our recording artists here to get their music heard. So we’ll be starting things off small with a select number of artists that we’ve had come through the studio over the last few years. If you’re interested in being part of our family of artists, please send me a message at [email protected] with info about your project!
If you’re also interested in working together and can offer other services like merch printing, artwork, digital design, networking, and all that jazz, feel free to also send us a message! We would love to work with more local businesses and companies to really create a sense of community!
That’s all for now, back to transferring files!
